What is FIT50?

FIT50 is ideal for you if…

  • You know you need to exercise but don’t know where to begin

  • You have had an injury

  • You want to manage a chronic disease such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes or osteoporosis

  • You don’t want to train in a commercial gym environment

  • You want to exercise in the safest and most effective way with expert supervision

Exercise in the safest and most effective way

Classes are designed by university-qualified Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) who are skilled in implementing exercise programs for people of all ages and abilities.

While exercise can be started safely at any age, as we get older it is even more important to exercise in the right way to avoid injury. Your MVP Exercise Physiologist can help you with this.

This means that your Exercise Physiologist will understand any pre-existing injuries or conditions that you may have in intimate detail and will prescribe exercise for you that can improve your condition, not make you feel worse.

Our small class sizes mean that your AEP can tailor each exercise to your needs, taking into account your fitness levels, pre-existing injuries and goals to help you progress at the right pace for you.

Their intricate knowledge of human physiology ensures that they can ensure you are performing all exercises with the correct technique to reduce your injury risk.

Reduce joint pain and stiffness

Our Exercise Physiologists are experts in treating musculoskeletal pain through exercise. We know that in many cases, doing the right exercises can reduce pain by strengthening the muscles around the sore joint.

In conditions such as osteoarthritis, cartilage that caps the tops of your bones wears down, causing pain, inflammation and loss of mobility. Exercise actually helps to reduce osteoarthritis related pain by distributing synovial fluid through the membranes in your joints to lubricate the joint and improve mobility over time.

Exercise will also improve your mobility by strengthening nearby muscle groups to stabilise the joint. This compensates for your dysfunctional joint, enabling you to improve your mobility and reduce pain.

Reduce your risk of falling as you age

The biggest factor determining your risk of falling is your functional ability, which can be affected by reduced balance, reduced strength or trouble walking (gait problems). The exercises in FIT50 are designed to tackle these risk factors by improving strength, balance and flexibility. Invest in your future self now and reduce your risk of falling later in life.

How can I join FIT50 classes?

Initial assessment

We start with booking an initial assessment with an MVP Exercise Physiologist. This is so we can understand your priorities, assess your current exercise tolerance, check your medical history as well as screen for any current injuries or conditions. From here, your Exercise Physiologist will develop a tailored program to target the key areas to improve your function and performance. If you are just starting off with exercising, our team can work with you one-on-one prior to starting classes to teach you how to check and correct your technique to get the most out of your sessions.

Flexible training times

Our classes are run by expert MVP Exercise Physiologists in our premium, bespoke physical performance and rehabilitation gym.

At MVP, each class is kept to a small-group training size, so that our Exercise Physiologists can check in with everyone attending. Classes run Monday-Friday across both our Paradise Point and Hope Island clinics.

We encourage participants to attend twice weekly for best results. However, if this is not possible for you, once per week is adequate

Get top quality, affordable training

If you have private health extras cover, you may even be eligible for rebates, which we can do right here in the clinic and get the money right back to you straight away. Please check with your insurance provider to find out if this is available for you.
