Men's Strength Classes

Fitter, faster, stronger.

Designed to build muscle and optimise technique, Men’s Strength Classes offer an individualised approach to keeping you fit, functional and strong.

Why Men’s Strength?

Men tend to have a functional view of their own health. By being able to work, play sport or spend time with their families, they will deem this as healthy. This performance-focussed approach is exemplified by MVP’s Men’s Strength Classes, designed to build muscle volume, maximise your cardiovascular fitness and help with weight loss.

Our Men’s Strength Classes are led by experienced male physios who are passionate about strength and high performance training. Whether you are an elite athlete or looking to start training, our physiotherapy team will work with you to create a program that targets your strength and fitness goals.

How do I Join and Men’s Strength Class?

Initial assessment

To get the most out of your sessions, we start with booking an initial assessment with an MVP physiotherapist or exercise physiologist. This is so we can understand your priorities, assess your current fitness level, check your medical history as well as screen for any current injuries or conditions. From here, your we will develop a tailored program to target the key areas to improve your function and performance. If you are just starting off with exercising, our team can work with you one-on-one prior to starting classes to teach you how to check and correct your technique to get the most out of your sessions.

Flexible training times and locations

At MVP, each class is kept to a small-group training size (capped at 5-6 participants), so that the physiotherapist can check in with each of the men attending. Classes consist of a range of strength, core, cardiovascular, bone-loading, balance and flexibility exercises targeted to meet your specific needs.

We also believe in the importance of education throughout the sessions to improve your knowledge of how exercise helps to improve your health.

We encourage participants to attend twice weekly for best results. However, if this is not possible for you, once per week is adequate.

Can I still train if I have an injury?

Yes - but you will need to be fully assessed in an individual physiotherapy consult. This can be organised so that the same physio who runs your usual class can also conduct the assessment, however any member of the MVP physio team is more than qualified to assess your condition. A one-on-one appointment will allow us to give you specific pain education and management advice as well as modifications to your exercise program. Depending on your condition, you may benefit from a combination of physiotherapy for hands-on treatment alongside your usual training schedule for a period of time. As your body heals, individual sessions can be tapered off in favour of getting you back into your usual training program, with the option for review appointments to check in on your recovery.
